First Christian Christian (Disciples of Christ)
|
This is the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), that sits on the corner of Silver Bluff and Whiskey Roads. A small, diverse, but growing flock of Disciples meet here. We profess that we are not the only Christians, but Christian only; speaking where the Bible speaks and silent where the Scriptures are silent. Our American roots go back over 200 years.
If you are wanting to know Christ, or if you are seeking a church home, you will find a warm, caring group of people with whom to worship. Freedom of thought is encouraged and the love of Christ is preached at First Christian.
We are called the People of the Chalice. Our emblem, a red chalice with the cross of St. Andrew, signifies our practice of taking communion each Sunday in remembrance of Christ's sacrifice for us. The Lord's table is open to all believers...come break the bread, come drink the cup, come share the Lord.
